I visited the day unit but what was really impressive was the total service. It starts with a call confirming the appointment. I then received a letter detailing what preparation I had to carry out, diet etc.. The letter contained information on parking and advice on travelling home, I would not be able to drive myself.
On arrival I was seen on time and then briefed on my treatment before signing consent forms and being shown to the ward. The ward staff were polite and highly efficient with details on why I would have a cannula inserted and did everything to make me feel at ease.
The procedure was carried out and after a short period of time to allow me to recover I was given coffee and toast, which since I had been fasting for 24 hours was really welcome. The nursing staff then removed the needle from my hand and discussed the results of my test explaining the print out I was given. So from the 7days before to the time after a complete service.
"Total service"
