"Follow up clinic appointment"

About: Chapel Allerton Hospital / Rheumatology

I tend to agree with other's that think the clinic appointments are just so awful. I'm also a patient at Bolton royal as I trusted my team there I continued to travel to Leeds when we moved to Lancashire. My other hospital gives you a follow up clinic appointment before you leave which is more the norm in all hospitals I've been a patient. It's been a year since my last clinic apt at CAH ! I was told last year that after your appointment you are kind of discharged only to have to wait as if you were being referred for your very first clinic appointment. So rather than having another follow up in 6 months or so, you have to wait for the next available slot so to speak.

I have no idea why they can't have the same appointment system as other hospital trusts, it's beyond all comprehension. Not only that due to cuts, hydrotherapy is no longer a part of in-patients therapy or treatment.

It was such a big part of our day knowing for at least half an hour we'd be in less pain, and be able to move more freely than we usually can. Hydro is more beneficial to rheumatology patients than any pill or infusion we have. Let's hope both of the above issues can be resolved sometime soon. Other than that, the hospital is almost perfect in my mind.
