I went to ward 12b for a hernia repair operation , on arrival I was greeted by a friendly staff member and directed to the reception area , on signing in I was taken to my bed for the day , I was then seen by the nurse in charge who checked all my details and told me what would be happening during my stay . I then met the anaesthetist who explained what they would be doing , then the doctor told me what would be happening , as I was first on the list I got into my gown and was later escorted down to the operating waiting area and onto a trolley . All my details were checked again and then the surgeon came and told me exactly what they would be doing with key hole surgery , ten minutes later and into the theatre prep room with the anaesthetist who explained exactly what they would do and what to expect . Back onto the ward after the operation and I came round and asked if everything was ok which it was , I was then asked if I wanted something to eat and drink and was given tea and toast which was greatly appreciated after starving from 10 the night before ! , 2 hours later after a final check on my condition I was allowed home . The whole experience of ward12 was a pleasant experience and the staff of nurses and doctors were very friendly and helpful and I would recommend it to anyone without hesitation .
