"visit to Poole A&E"

I attended Poole A&E approx 7.30 am on a Sunday morning with severe rib/chest pain following a fall and was registered and seen by triage nurse within 30 mins and given pain relief. Within an hour I had 2 CT scans and was taken to the major bays to be observed. I had blood tests was examined by a doctor and had a chest x- ray. The doctor explained what had happened gave me reassurance and advice and prescribed further pain relief. I left A&E within 5 hours knowing what was wrong and what to do. I was kept informed throughout and the staff I had contact with were professional and personable and put me at my ease. I have never visited A&E as a patient before and my impression was of an extremely well run Dept.
