What I liked

I should like my very favourable comments to be relayed to all the Units concerned.

I was recently a patient in the Day Surgery Unit, under the care of the consultant. The care shown to me by the staff on Day Surgery and in the operating theatre could not have been faulted. The manner of the staff, including the consultant's Registrar, the anaesthetist and his colleagues, was exemplary. The consultant herself is a gem who gives her patients such confidence and always has time to explain whenever needed. And she's great fun with a terrific bedside manner!

On my return from Recovery to the Day Surgery Unit, my needs were immediately addressed and at no time was any pressure put on me to depart until I felt fully ready to do so.

Everything pre- and post-op was discussed fully with me, pain control was supplied and I, and my family, are extremely grateful for my brief stay being made as comfortable as possible.

I do hope that all Frimley Park Hospital's services related to breast cancer are as sympathetic and efficient as the consultant's care, and that of all the staff concerned with looking after me yesterday.

I really do hope that my comments WILL reach all those involved with my care. Too often the NHS (I'm a retired radiographer) is slated by so many. So when a patient has a positive experience in hospital, I feel very strongly that the contribution of everyone involved should be acknowledged.
