"Excellent care in A and E"

About: Good Hope Hospital / Accident & emergency

I had experienced a burst varicose vein and had paramedic care at home, however I was also advised to have treatment at hospital by the ambulance crew. My daughter took me to Good Hope hospital.

The waiting area was clean and comfortable. It was easy to book in and I waited approximately 90minutes to be seen. It was a busy area with one practice nurse and doctor supported by other health care staff.

The practice nurse viewed a dressed my leg and gave medical advice to rest and elevate my leg and to see my GP for further medical support with 3days.

The staff I encountered were professional, friendly and respectful. I wanted to say thank you to them.

thank you for your post regarding your patient experience at Good Hope Hospital. I am so pleased that although you had concerns about your leg, you found the waiting area to be clean and tidy, and that you were seen and dealt with in a timely fashion.

Patient feedback is extremely important to us and I will be thrilled to ensure that your comments are highlighted to the Senior Management Team for Accident and Emergency Department who will ensure that your feedback is communicated to all of the team who work extremely hard in often difficult circumstances to provide good patient care and promote a positive patient experience.
