Went for hernia operation in August 2016. Had general anaesthetic (never had this before). Was very concerned and nervous before. This was my first surgery. The nurses are fantastic, everyone seemed relaxed and professional. I met the surgeon once before and had the chance to ask questions (write down questions you have and don't be afraid to ask). I didn't meet the surgeon after (would have been nice to have had some feedback but never mind). All the staff are brilliant. I still have a few questions about my procedure and I'm confident I'll get these questions answered. At present I feel fine, a little sore but certainly much better than I anticipated. This is a wonderful hospital and the NHS is something we should all treasure. After this experience I would be happy to return to Heatherwood hospital. The hospital looks a little run down in places but the professional approach by everyone is excellent. Thank you all at Heatherwood.
