About: North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust / Inpatient mental health care

(as the patient),

I am currently an in patient on the psychiatric ward in Whitehaven. I have been an in patient numerous times before at different hospitals, as well as this one and I can say it is 110% better than the last time I was here. I am getting the help that I need and the staff are very good, so much so that I do not want to go home at the moment.

We have been working very hard on improving the experience provided for our in patients. On Yewdale we have been working with the productive wards which focuses on one to one sessions, patient centred reviews of care, and an improvement in the ward environment. We are very pleased that these improvements are having a positive impact on patient care.
