"Dr out of Surgery in opening hours"

About: Camden PCT

(as a service user),

My daughter had her tonsils taken out 5 days ago. The hospital stuff told me if she had any sudden pain or a temperature that i should talk to my GP. the hospital said she has to be away from public places just in case she gets a virus. This morning she woke up with pain and fainted. we called 999 they connected us to NHS direct . I got some advice and they said she needs to be seen by my GP. I went to my GP they said one of Doctors is away till late April and the other one was working in a private hospital . They phoned him and passed the phone to me he said it is common and that the problem is not important people do this operation in the morning and go back to work in the afternoon. I think that he was wrong because she is under painkillers, so any problems like temperatures is unlikely to happen. we had been cautioned by hospital staff after the operation to do exactly what i did if anything happened. I phoned NHS direct again they told me the nearest walk-in GP is 5 miles from your home.At the moment I don't know what to do. It seems to me that my GP tries to save money and not employ any doctors even in emergency time. I hope the person who is dealing with this matter will contact me and do something about saving money in my GP.
