I visited my friends dad who was on Ranmore ward and seriously unimpressed with the service and attitude of the staff.
I arrived and rang bell to get in. I did not know where he was on the ward and asked a nurse behind the counter.
No smile, no can I help you, I felt like I was intruding and shouldn't be there.
The small ward itself was OK but it was a hot day and had a door onto a secure garden which was closed.
The ward orderly was extremely discourteous to patients saying Tea? rather than good morning Mr M would you like a cup of tea?
Their attitude and the way they spoke to people was appalling. The atmosphere was like Gods waiting room, no conversation, no music, no jollity at all.
One woman was in a chair in the middle of the main part of the ward and was asleep with her head on the table.
She looked extremely uncomfortable, not conducive to recovery. As a professional I would not want any of my customers or family to be sent there.
"Not impressed"
