"Wrong clinic"

About: Southampton NHS Treatment Centre / Orthopaedics

Two weeks ado I injured my nose. I received notification to visit a trauma clinic two weeks after the injury, which was today. It appears that the A+E dept at the general had sent me to the wrong clinic. That was a mistake, but I should have been accommodated at the correct clinic on that day as I had the evidence required from

A+E and the facial injury to prove it. The staff member on Level C was utterly dismissive and another staff member was equally unhelpful. Eventually I was reassessed in minors. This created a referral notice an I now expect to be seen as I should have been by the correct department. Unfortunately the time frame will now be extended another two weeks. It was not my fault I had receive the wrong invitation. Someone from Level C should have phoned A+E, confirmed the mistake and allowed me to wait in the correct clinic until someone could see me. I wasted time and parking money because the NHS does not engage in joined up thinking. The patient is what matters and not this adherence to your precious departments. Please let us see some concern for the patient, this situation could have been easily rectified. Fax machines exist and I did possess a referral, it was just for the wrong clinic. Thanks you to the minors who decided to reassess me.
