I have always been pleased and grateful for the care I and my family have received in the 40 years since I came to live in Sheffield. But I do have one adverse comment. When I went to the Northern General Hospital in December 2009 for an angioplasty procedure, the operation of inserting a tube into a wrist vein was applied in rushed and clumsy fashion by a nurse. She forced the tube into a nerve and temporarily paralysed my hand and caused great agony. Even now three months later, I still experience stabs of pain in my knuckles. I regret having to comment, because otherwise I have nothing but gratitude and praise for the medical support and treatment I have received.
"Greatful for care but one adverse comment"
