About: Colchester General Hospital / Urology

If my first appointment for my prostate surgery had not been cancelled due to a shortage of theatre staff, I would have felt close to given a 5 star review for my experience.

Right, onto my care:

I can offer nothing but high praise for the consultants, anaesthetist, nursing staff, and all other staff. My care by everyone from initial admission, through surgery and nursing care on Mersea Ward was exemplary. I was treated with respect, patience and professionalism by everyone.

I have total confidence in the medical expertise and personal care provided by all.

I have just one improvement suggestion ( and this may well be a budget/staffing level issue).

I felt the toilet cubicles could be kept a little cleaner during the day. It appeared to me that the nursing staff, rather had to look after this during the day after the initial morning clean by the designated staff.

Can I suggest that these are cleaned thoroughly at least three times per day by non-nursing staff.
