"Excellent end of life care"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Older people's healthcare

My mother was admitted to MAU late at night following a deterioration in her condition. Powerful antibiotics were prescribed on the ward, then she was transferred to Karensa. I was consulted on treatment by a junior doctor who took me to a private room for privacy and further consulted the next day. The following day the consultant sought me out to discuss options. Mum's condition deteriorated and she slipped away quietly 2 days later. At all times mum was treated competently but more importantly, as an individual with dignity and compassion. The family is very impressed with mum's treatment and end if life care are very happy to record our thanks to all of the team involved.
