Twice I have had appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, each time the reason has been given as sickness of staff/doctor. I should have had a follow up appointment in May, but didn't get one and only after enquiring was I given one in July. This was cancelled and another one arranged for August, again cancelled. My hospital letter states that my procedure may be carried out by a nurse or a member of the team, but I was informed at the hospital that a doctor was required. Apparently 12 appointments were cancelled on that day, 24th August. Why can not this contingency be planned for, this apparently relied on one member of staff. I am very concerned re my eye problem not being addressed. To add insult to injury I received a letter the next day, cancelling my previous day's appointment! I still do not have the two follow-up appointments at QEQM. My whole experience of the department has been
