"Great care"

About: Manchester Royal Infirmary

I went in to the walk in centre to have scrapes, bruises and swelling treated after a bike accident.

The nurse who treated me was very kind, efficient, and helpful, and I received wonderful care! I was very happy with the treatment and advice, and left feeling much better.

The only downside was that I had to wait over an hour for care, and wasn't given any information upon check-in as to what to expect.

I just filled out a form and when I turned it in, the receptionist didn't say anything but thank you.

Slightly more direction would have been appreciated as it was my first time visiting.

Thank you for your comments posted on the NHS Choices website regarding your care when you attended our walk in centre. It was very kind of you to write and compliment the staff as it is good to receive positive feedback which reflects the hard work and dedication of our staff. It was reassuring to hear that you thought the nurse who treated you was kind and helpful. I can assure you that we have shared your thoughts with the team.

We have acknowledged your concerns in regards to being informed of waiting times and what to expect whilst you are with us in the walk in Centre. Matron, Mr Jaime Correia, will take this issue forward to look at the processes we have in place and will also share this with our reception staff to ensure they make patients aware of waiting times. We welcome feedback from our patients because this ensures that issues are heard and it gives us the opportunity to improve our services.
