"misdiagnosis at the drop in centre and A&E"

About: Grindon Lane Primary Care Centre Sunderland Royal Hospital / Accident and emergency Sunderland Royal Hospital / General surgery Sunderland Royal Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

Sat night i went to the drop in centre up grindon lane, they told me i had a water infection, went home on antibiotics and was vomiting and had a bad stomach, they told me if it got worse to go to a&e. later that night i went to a&e they sent me home told me i had a water infection. Sunday night i went back to a&e vomiting they eventually admitted me on the decisions unit where i got told i had appendicitis. i then got transferred to b22 went to theatre monday morning for an appendicectomy and woke up on c36 which at the time was a urology ward so i was then a "border". 5 and a half hours later i returned to the ward after having a appendicectomy and a laperotomy. after my surgery they told me i had peritonitis and i was very lucky. the staff on ward c36 were friendly and the ward was lovely and clean. i was in hospital aprox 2 weeks with 39 staples to my stomach.
