"The meaningful Activity Plan"

About: Rampton Hospital

(as the patient),

The Meaningful Activity Plan (M. P. A) was put together by patients on the Peaks to promote involvement, coproduction, informed choice, peer support and social inclusion. In other words we can achieve wellbeing through creativity and active community participation to give us a purpose and to generate an over all positive outlook on life.

I have been through very challenging times with my mental health, which in turn affected my family and friends, I feel that the more options that are available in challenging times the better. Being actively involved in the M. A. P has helped me to believe in myself and giving me hope and I am now taking opportunities to develop a meaningful and satisfying life.

On here the patients and staff have strong therapeutic relationships, which is particularly because the Peaks recognise that people with direct experience of mental ill health can make valuable contributions. When it comes to patients involvement the Peaks is streets ahead! .

Today we had a M. A. P event, which was planned by patients, it was a brilliant day and I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone that made the M. A. P possible.

Thank you 😊

Thank you very much for taking the time to share this positive feedback. The Peaks Meaningful Activity Plan was developed by gaining collaborative feedback from patients across the Peaks units as part of their involvement meetings. I am grateful to those patients who took the time to give their feedback and also to those who have designed the fabulous involvement logo and developed the leaflet which details the weekly activity programme.

On the Peaks we recognise and appreciate the value that meaningful activites have upon both an indvidual's mental and phsyical well-being and the whole ward atmosphere. I am really pleased to hear that the activities are having some a positive impact on you and thank you for all your efforts in supporting the patients and staff in your role as the patient activity lead.

It has been rewarding to receive such positive feedback for the Bank Holiday event from both staff and patients.

Here is some more feedback we have had

“Today has reinforced how well patients and staff work together on the Peaks. The event today was brilliant, great atmosphere and has shown me that there is always hope.”

“I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and everyone made me feel welcome. Looking forward to future events.”

“I Enjoyed today found it positive, everyone had respect for one another. Hopefully there will be more stuff like this in the future.”

“Thankyou for your hard work it just shows how much a caring and compassionate approach to patients can make the difference. Spot on.”
