"Doctors and nurses doing their best in a very..."

About: Pinderfields General Hospital / Accident and emergency

We arrived at A & E at 1am on a tuesday but the wait to see a nurse then a doctor and then to find a bed took altogether 26 hrs.

When he was finally told he was well enough to go home the wait fot his medications to get to the ward took hours. This blocked the bed. Surely he could have been given a prescription to present to the pharmacy himself.

We cannot praise the doctors and nurses enough. It was purely lack of sensible organisation.

We apologise for the wait for medication. We are looking at ways to streamline this element of the discharge process, by, for example, allocating pharmacists to specific wards, and are keen to improve this element of care.
