"Urological Surgeon / staff"

About: Colchester General Hospital / Urology

I had a Laparoscopic radical prostatectomy. Unforeseen complications during the operation meant I had to stay twelve days instead of the usual two. If it had not been for the skill of the surgeon it would have been a lot longer. During this time the surgeon was normally present on the daily ward round and if not, their number one was. They were very approachable and keen on answering any questions fired at them or the team. Now a year on, all the follow on treatment has been first class and phone messages, of my concerns, left were always replied to. I found the surgeons approach was beyond just being a job, they were genuinely interested in me and never rushed me out of the door. I have been signed off from them now and been moved onto another specialist. I will miss my friend....
