"Reassuringly efficient"

Arrived looking worse than my injury suggested after cutting my hand, I was treated with kindness, generosity and such warmth and appropriate humour my fear was swiftly replaced with a sense of calm and ease. Everyone took time to explain what their role was, the procedure, why it was necessary and the time it was likely to take.

My expectations, including my wish not to transfer to another hospital, were expertly managed. I have much experience of the NHS, from a professional perspective, it was hugely reassuring to know that my local hospital far exceeded my previous knowledge base of other services throughout the UK.
