My mother was brought in to A&E by paramedics Saturday morning with pneumonia and low oxygen levels and pulse rate. She was seen immediately and stabilised. ER staff were kind and caring and explained the situation well. Food was provided to my mother. She was transferred to the Elders Receiving Unit, then after a few hours to Sunrise elderly care ward. Staff did their best to treat her condition over the next few days although it was always going to be 50/50. Unfortunately, she declined and ultimately we were sensitively helped through end of life options and my mother died at the end of the week. All staff, the room cleaners and care assistants, nurses, sisters and doctors and consultants were kind, caring and treated my mother with great dignity and respect, as well as the other patients on the ward. I am so grateful for the wonderful care provided.
"Wonderful care for my dying mother"
