"Clean, friendly, my wife was treated ..."

About: Southampton General Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

Clean, friendly, my wife was treated very well and probably owes her life to the surgeon and most of the nurses on the HD ward, I cannot speak highly enough of these dedicated helpful staff.

Thankyou.

What could be improved

Time being delt with in A&E although very busy at the time......initially not very impressed with staff and doctors on the addmissions ward but this improved.

Lack of places and cost of car parking.

Having to walk through clouds of cigarette smoke outside the main entrance

Many thanks for your comments, which we've shared with the emergency department and high dependency unit.

We are working hard to meet the parking challenge, including developing a transport strategy and working with local partners such as the city council. We also recognise that are many issues still to be resolved in the operation of our smoking policy, so we are currently undertaking a review.
