About: Addenbrooke's Hospital / Accident and emergency

I have taken my son to A&E with a cut finger. He was bleeding and I wasn't sure whether the finger was severed. I explained this to the A&E staff. There was no triage, so nobody knew whether the finger was severed or not. We were asked to wait. After 3 hours and after many complaints by me, He was finally seen and needed surgery. I didnt understand why the staff made things difficult to us.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your visit to the Emergency Department with your son.

I am very sorry that you were not happy with the treatment provided and did not feel well-informed.

I have forwarded your coment to senior staff in the department, but please do not hesitate to contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01223 216756 if you would like us to look into the particular circumstances and respond to you personally.

I hope your son's injury is healing well.
