"Maternity care for VBAC"

About: Warrington Hospital / Maternity

I had our son at Warrington in July after a VBAC and was really pleased with my care.

We were left for a while on check in which I guess is expected although I have a fast labour based on child 1.

The delivery suite was clean and well equipped, and everything was explained to us on arrival.

The midwife was absolutely great, popped out a few times but was there with me for most of the time, which I did not expect as this was my second child.

We actually happened to be delivering during a shift change but the midwife due to leave stayed while I delivered (40 minutes after they were due to leave).

We nearly required an assisted delivery so a consultant was called but it was not needed.

The patient care was great in labour and delivery.

I felt very looked after and there was no rush to get us on the ward.

Once moved to the ward, the available care was reduced but it was not needed.

There was also no rush to send my husband home even though it was after midnight.

Testing and discharge the next day was a little chaotic and disorganized but I was still able to leave before noon the day after delivery.

Overall, I had a very positive experience at the hospital.
