"Unprofessional"

The Northern General referred me to Thornbury for a hernia operation, I was given dates for my pre op assessment and the operation date. I attended my pre op and the following week was to be my operation which I attended as informed on the date and on time. However that morning I arrived at Thornbury only to be told that they had cancelled the op and referred me back to the Northern General. It was followed with "at least you can enjoy a day in the sun", how flippant a comment after a loss of a days pay. No contact was made to me by Thornbury which in my opinion is bad practice. A simple phone call is all it would have taken. Not very professional....
