(as a relative),

I just wanted to compliment the staff at Glen o'Dee hospital in Banchory on truly outstanding care. My Mother was transferred there for end of life care and although an exceptionally difficult time, the nursing care will be remembered as exceptional. The nursing staff worked in true partnership with me, inviting me to stay with my Mum if I wanted, discussing what elements of the care I would like to be involved in and communicating with me throughout. The care provided to my Mum allowed her to spend her last few days with dignity in an environment that couldn't have been more compassionate. The nurses were experienced, kind and caring. Special thanks to Diane, Rachal and Wilma who I hope will know that their care made such a huge difference. Thank you isn't enough.

Dear caring-matters

Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your Mum. The very last thing we can do for our patients is to ensure that they pass with dignity and compassion. We are very grateful to you for sharing your story at such a difficult time. I thank you, because staff reading this, especially those with less experience than the nurses you encountered, will be helped to better understand what matters and what is important to people going through a similar situation. I am reassured that our staff made such a difference and they will be gladdened to hear, that how they cared for you and your Mum, will be a lasting comfort to you.
