"Daughter fall and banged her head"

About: South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as a relative),

My daughter tripped down some steps and banged her head, causing bleeding to her lip and teeth. When helped getting up her eyes rolled and she went limp so we put her in the recovery position and called an ambulance who arrived really quickly which was impressive considering we were in a rural setting. John and Adrian arrived and took over, they were friendly and made my daughter at ease whilst checking her over and taking various observations and tests. They talked to her and made her laugh which was great to see and then they took her to the ambulance for additional observations and tests whilst talking to her who is 9 all the time. As parents you are obviously worried but there professionalism was excellent whilst being friendly. Thank you John and Adrian, you guys are fantastic.

Hello Nunney Castle,

Thank you for taking the time to share your story. I hope your daughter is recovering well.

It is always rewarding to hear stories of how our staff are delivering care and support to patients, and those around them, when they need it most.

We would be happy to share your story with the ambulance staff involved in your daughter's care, however to do so we will need some specific information. If you would like us to do this, please may I ask you to contact us on either plaudits@swast.nhs.uk or 01392 453 831 and a member of the Patient Engagement Team will be happy to help you further.

Thank you, again, for taking the time to provide us with feedback.

Kind regards

Sara
