On Thursday my husband had lime cement in eye and was taken to Lister by son. Was treated quite quickly and came home satisfied with a prescription and an outpatients appointment for following week. When I looked at outpatient appointment letter it was for a lady who lived miles away.
Rang the hospital and left message with Ophthalology department to check if this appointment was for my husband or was for this lady patient.
Went to pick up prescription from chemist only to be told they couldn't give it to me as the hospital doctor hadn't signed it.
As I don't drive we couldn't get back over there.
I rang the hospital and spoke to a nurse (telephone no was on the prescription so don't know what department she worked for) she was amazing and did everything to get my husband's doctors to re-prescribe the prescription so he could start treatment. Finally picked up prescription Saturday as they had to order the drops etc.
But the prescription said for his left eye even though it was his right!
I have since rang and left 3 message on the Ophthalmology answerphone asking them to ring so we can clarify my husbands appointment time but they still haven't called back.
His appointment is tomorrow but if they don't confirm the appointment on the letter is his and not another patients he will not be attending.
It has just been one cock-up after another!
