What I liked
I had not been in hospital for over 50 years so was very sceptical as to what to expect. I had radiotherapy in L11 and cannot but praise the way I was dealt with by the staff there. My nightmare next course was brachytherapy in ward 10 and after reading some of the comments I was extremely concerned. I was deal with the utmost respect and the nurses could not have been more helpful. I was under the care of my doctor and his team - I'm sure that I could not have been in better hands.
What could be improved
Ward 10 is quite old but as far as i could see there is little wrong with it. It is comfortable and clean. I was there to get better not to judge a building for entry in Homes and Gardens. The one area that is lacking is the toilets. Whilst it didn't apply to me as I did not have to carry a trolley around I noted that it was not possible for the patient and trolley to enter the cubicle which is not very satisfactory in the 21st century. Adverse comment is previously made of washing facilities but there is a shower which admittedly requires updating. However I had a number of showers without any problem.
