I visited the Scanner Centre this afternoon for an MRI scan and was left traumatised by my experience.
The leaflet I received in advance of my appointment in no way prepared me for the experience. Pieces of information that were really important to me concerning what clothing you would be wearing during the scan and the terrifyingly small space you are in while being scanned led to my having to press the emergency button only 3 minutes into a 45 minute scan.
I am now worried and upset about what this means for my health as I cannot go back again.
The only way I can describe how I felt was being buried alive.
The leaflet gave me the impression that you got into your dressing gown and were scanned wearing that; that was not the case at all so I was wearing all the wrong clothes.
I feel totally humiliated and upset about my experience.
