About: Hertford County Hospital

I had been to this clinic on two previous occasions and been very surprised to see a sort of 'mission statement' notice on the wall.

This noted several points which included stating the receptionist should greet a patient within a certain time scale and also smile.

This was a great surprise as most hospital receptions I had been to previously were all unfriendly and inefficient.

The receptionist herself was excellent and fulfilled all the obligations on the notice and more, she was a pleasure to deal with.

However, my last appointment was completely different.

Gone was the notice and the nice receptionist to be replaced by a lady who could barely be bothered to look up from her work when I arrived at the desk.

Once she did deign to notice me there was no smile or offer to help just a blank stare.

Her attitude was unpleasant, off-hand and did nothing to promote the hospital as a caring environment.
