My elderly uncle with dementia has been transferred to g4 ward after a stay on the assessment unit. I cannot believe the difference between the 2 wards. The staff on G4 are so patient with all the demanding care that the patients on that ward require. Nothing was ever too much for any of the members of staff. In particular. I saw what I presume is a junior doctor go around the whole ward with some ice this afternoon. They chatted to all the patients and their relatives. They put ice into all the water jugs and also spent time chatting to my uncle about growing up in London. They had fantastic bedside manner. To that doctor and all the staff on g4. Thank you. I'm hoping to return back to London tomorrow, but know my uncle will be looked after well.
