About: Mount Vernon Cancer Centre

What I liked

My visit in May 2009 was just the latest in a series of visits for scans and follow-ups.

I have never had to wait more than a few minutes beyond my appointment time and almost every member of staff I have met has had a friendly and approachable manner. This makes the exceptions to this stand out even more!

The hospital has always taken the trouble to call me personally about my appointments with letters to follow up as well. This kind of personal contact is really welcome.

I've never stayed in a ward here but the facilities that I have used have always appeared clean and well maintained.

What could be improved

Just one or two members of non-medical staff haven't seemed very approachable.

Anything else?

Thanks for being so reliable.

Having cancer is still one of the biggest challenges that any of us will face in terms of our health.

Which is why receiving personalised care is so important in what is a highly specialist and heavily medicalised treatment area.

We know that our ataff at Mount Vernon aim to get that balance right and it sound like - with perhaps one or two minor exceptions - they've managed that very well indeed in your case. Many thanks for letting us know.
