"Complaints Poorly Handled"

I had reason to complain about a neurologist who I found to have insulting and unprofessional conduct at the Royal Cornwall Hospital. Despite an undertaking from the hospital that the investigation would be completed and that the chief executive would respond to me within 35 working days, I am still without a response to my complaint 49 days later.

I regret that I am now left with the firm opinion that RCH does not take complaints about their staff seriously, that complainants are regarded as merely being a nuisance, and full and fair investigation is highly unlikely (after all, nobody has contacted me asking to clarify any matters/ statements raised by the Doctor involved). As somebody who has carried out investigations at a high level for a living, I find RCH's system both dilatory and amateur.

I fully expect the conduct of the staff member involved to be fully justified by the 'investigator' who is, after all, an employee of the hospital Trust.
