"lack of support during crisis"

About: Chorley & South Ribble Hospital Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust / Adult mental health

(as the patient),

I have bipolar and have been learning to live with it for the last 4 years. I have a cpn and a support worker.

My cpn is relatively new but we dont seem to be along the same lines. 2 weeks ago I went in to crisis, I followed my care plan and called my cpn to be told to calm down and we could talk about my problems when I saw them again in 2 weeks.

I was totally shocked by her lack of support I put the phone down , I decided to call them back and try and explain again more calmly how bad things were and that I was suicidal and needed help, to be told again we would speak next time we meet.

I asked for a crisis evaluation and input from the crisis team. She called me back the next day to say they weren't coming out as thay felt it wasnt needed at this time.

OMG I was distraught and didnt know what to do, I was in bits with no where to turn. I decided to ring the crisis team and spoke to someone who I felt was really not interested in why I had called or what was the problem, they did however point out to me that I had in fact got a personality disorder and it seemed that it was only me that didnt know about this!

I was totally shocked and it really sent me spiralling out of control, how could this happen, a diagnosis without me even knowing ? I now dont know what to do I am coming out of the crisis but dont feel I can talk to my cpn as she quite clearly doesnt want to speak to me till our next meeting in 1 week.

Is this the best that can be offered? am I asking too much for someone to be there for me in a crisi? or to feel supported
