"Due to appalling management of the car park..."

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

Shame on you Queens Hospital for employing staff to ticket illegally parked cars but having no help available to assist with parking at busy times.

After driving round the multi-storey twice and still not able to park, cars still being admitted to the car park and taking spaces that I couldn't get to even though they had just entered.

Told to go to drop off/pick-up area as I was only dropping off a heart monitor but it was impossible to access the area.

Saw lots of tickets being issued but no-one assisting these poor people who were getting more stressed as they were missing their appointments.

Thankfully, a security guard came to my rescue and delivered my heart monitor for me.

Unfortunately they had to come to my assistance as an elderly gentleman hit my car as he was trying to get his very ill wife to her appointment and was obviously distressed at not being able to get parked.

Sort it out Queens Hospital - how dare you employ staff to fine people but make no effort to assist them with their parking.

Although I am obviously upset that my car has been damaged, I felt extremely sorry for the poor gentleman who was concerned for his wife's health and well being.

I am sure the nursing staff are absolutely fantastic once you are able to enter the hospital, unfortunately I didn't even make it that far today due to the appalling management of the parking facilities.

Thank you for taking the time to comment.

I am so sorry for your experience.

We are aware of the current difficulties surrounding car parking at Queen’s Hospital.

Our Estates and Facilities Team are currently trying to resolve this. However, I note that for people trying to access our services there is a lack of assistance with parking.

I am forwarding your comments to the Estates and Facilities Team to consider what else we can do to help people as such a difficult time.

Yours Sincerely

Kathryn Halford

Chief Nurse
