I was having trouble with my hearing, so I went to the Royal Hallamshire, staying on ward I1. It was good that everyone was friendly. However, I was told not to eat or drink anything for four hours before being admitted - 8.30am - but didn't go to theatre until 1.30pm for an operation at approx. 3 pm!
