"Gallbladder surgery"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Day Surgery

(as the patient),

I am writing this story re gallbladder surgery at wishaw General I have been scheduled for surgery twice now and twice I have been sent home due to pressure of beds, my first appointment in wishaw General was in March 2016 and this appointment was with a consultant and we discussed my situation with gallstones and they was going to put me on a waiting list for surgery, I had my first pre assessment app in April 2016 and was advised my 12 week waiting time for this surgery will be up the end of May therefore I should be done by then, several weeks past and my waiting time was up therefore I then also needed another pre assessment app as I was over my time, I had another appointment in July to be told I should get an app in soon, I continued to contact wishaw General re an app as I was 19 weeks over the waiting time to be advised I should hear something soon anyway I eventually got a date in  Aug 2016 I fasted for the night before turned up for my app at 10. 30am, I spoke with the relevant nurses doctors etc on admission, and the surgeon spoke to me and told me I was first on the list and we should be good to go for 13. 30pm, as the hours past I was informed it may not be getting done as the order of surgery had changed, so as time was passing I knew it wasn't going ahead then a nurse spoke to me just after 4pm to say it had been cancelled and I had to phone in a few days for another appointment, I got another appointment, so I yet again fasted the night before, sorted childcare and a lift to the hospital yet again, so I arrive at 7. 30am to be admitted again spoke again with all relevant people and the surgeon told me at 8. 40 I was first on the list and we would go through to theatre shortly only for him to come back an hour and say that it may not go ahead yet again do to pressure of beds, a nurse came to inform me just after 10am that surgery was cancelled again and I have to phone back to see if app is available, to date I am actually 24weeks waiting to get this op done I'm past my 12 weeks waiting time plus I've been waiting another 12 after that.....I just want this op done so I can resume back to work, I am most disappointed regarding this situation and the way I have been treated....
