I have just had a three night stay in Heartlands Hospital - Ward 4.
One night on HDU and the other two on the main ward.
I would like to pass on my thanks, gratitude and admiration to all of the staff that I came into contact with throughout my stay.
I had a mass removed from my chest, which is fairly invasive surgery.
On top of this it was my first stay ever in hospital.
A fairly anxious time would be an understatement.
The treatment I received from the consultant, the anaesthetist, recovery room staff through to all of the ward staff and the staff in the discharge lounge was always considerate, compassionate, professional, informative but most of all caring. I have observed a team of remarkable people that have a really tough job to do with a lot of different specific needs to cater for but seem to manage to achieve this in spite of having to deal with some difficult patients, long hours and seemingly never having quite enough experienced familiar staff to work with.
I'm so impressed, so grateful and thankful to you all for everything you did for me. There are a few people that I would like to mention by name but this forum doesn't allow it.
You know who you are if you ever get to read this.
Thank you all so much.
