I am writing this review with regard to my daughters first visit to the speakeasy clinic last week. She came out quite upset over the way she was spoken too. She came for contraceptive advice, she is overweight and is aware of this and is dealing with it but she was treated without much respect or compassion by the nurse she saw. I am a nurse myself and appreciate that part of our job ,an important part is health education however the way the nurse made my daughter feel was not acceptable.
The nurse made my already shy unconfident daughter feel even worse, She is trying to get her weight under control but was made to feel extremely bad following this visit.....one example of this is the nurse was working out her bmi, they asked how tall my daughter was she said 5ft 5, the nurse input 5ft 2 mu daughter pointed this out and said she was 5ft 5 ,the nurse yet again input 5ft 2 ,again my daughter again pointed this out to which the nurse tutted and said well three inches wont make any difference. It made my daughter feel really uncomfortable and will not be returning to this clinic ,we will try and find respectful, kind help, advice and medical care elsewhere in future. It was more disappointing the fact that this was the speakeasy clinic that was advertised for easy advice and care for younger people 18 and under.
