"Nothing urgent about the urgent eye care dept"

About: Lister Hospital

I visited the Urgent eye car dept last week for a bad eye infection. Got seen by a Triage nurse after an hour then sat and waited for a further 4 hours to see a specialist before giving up and going home. One doctor on duty and one triage nurse. After 5 days I went to Moorfields in London to get my eye sorted. In and out in an hour and a half , 15 doctors on duty , loads of triage nurses and very swift service.

I appreciate that Moorfields serves London and so would have more people on duty but why such a difference compared to Lister?

We're sorry that you were disappointed with the urgent eye clinic service at the Lister.

We know that our ophthalmology team colleagues would welcome the chance to talk your concerns through with you. To do that Buster, all you need do is email us at generalenquiries.enh-tr@nhs.net with all the details of what happened and when.
