"After having rung NHS direct for ..."
Posted by Drop-in Cebtre (as ),
After having rung NHS direct for advice about my 7 month old granddaughter, I was told to take her to the drop in centre at 1.30pm (Sunday March 28th). All signs on the door said the centre was closed, but I gave the buzzer a press anyway but did not get any response, so took the baby to A & E to ask where we should take her - the person at A & E was very helpful and rang the drop in centre where they was told that we hadn't rung the buzzer. We walked back over to the drop in centre where the receptionist was very rude and made me feel as if I had lied about pressing the buzzer - I would have explained that maybe I hadn't pressed it hard enough, if I'd been given the chance but the receptionist didn't give me a chance and said, very sarcastically, that it was stupid to have to apply pressure to the buzzer. It's not what was said by the receptionist that I find offensive but the way they spoke to myself and daughter - politeness goes a long way.
