"My inpatient experience"

About: Liverpool Womens Hospital

I was visiting Liverpool for the day with a friend when my waters ruptured prematurely. I rang the hospital and the doctor instructed me to come in straight away for a review. On arrival I got seen almost immediately and resulted in getting admitted onto the delivery suite. Unfortunately during my stay my health deteriorated and I had to go through labour, inevitably losing my little boy. Being nearly 100 miles from home, the hospital department kindly allowed my relative to stay with me the whole time and cared for them as if they were a patient themselves. After going through such a horrific experience I honestly can not credit the department, staff and trust enough. The care I received was incredible and made such an awful experience barerable. My room was in pristine condition, nothing was unclean or unkempt. The food was lovely despite the reputation hospital food has! The staff were so caring, compassionate and patient. The midwives & doctors were especially attentive, ensuring that both mine and my relatives needs were met at all times. I cannot thank them enough. As my baby was still born, after I was discharged home I was able to visit him whenever I liked within the Honeysuckle department and I think this is such an amazing feature of the hospital. It gives mothers like myself and families an opportunity to spend quality time with their baby until they have to say goodbye. The care there was that outstanding I requested for my baby to stay within there care and travelled 100 miles each time i wanted to see him until it was time to bury him because I knew he was in the best hands. This hospital is a credit to the NHS and I am so grateful for everything they have done for me.
