"Excellence in Practice!"

About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital

Late in the night I brought my husband to A&E as he had,had a worrying turn of symptoms. I was grateful to note that no one went into Geriatric Mode as soon as his age was given. He had routine obs, plus ecg and bloods taken. The Doctor who spoke to my husband was extremely courteous and professional. From start to finish, each member of staff was kind and attentive. As we had only just arrived in Blackpool that afternoon,I was very grateful to all the staff on duty on 15/08/16 for their care and attention.

Thank you for sharing your experience of our Emergency Department (A&E) on the 15th August 2016. I will make sure your kind comments are passed onto the team from that day who I’m sure will be delighted to hear that their professionalism and kindness helped put both you and your husband at ease at what was understandingly a worrying time.

Positive feedback is just as important to us as negative feedback so we can learn from the examples our colleagues in the Emergency Department have set and ensure this best practice is shared in other areas.

I hope your husband is feeling better now, and you both enjoyed your break to Blackpool.

With best wishes for the future

Andrew Heath
