"Will be making a formal complaint"

About: Kent & Canterbury Hospital

I got referred urgently by my GP on 27th April, told I would be seen within 4weeks Appointment was for 10 weeks later! Kept phoning for a cancellation, managed to get one for 3 weeks sooner. So I still ended up waiting 7 weeks for an urgent app. Once I saw consultant, needed a biopsy, had to wait 5 weeks for that! At my app, consultant said I may need to be sent to London for surgery and they would have a meeting to discuss this. A month later I had pre-assessment clinic and was told operation would be at William Harvey. So assumed meeting concluded London hospital wouldn't be needed. Had to phone for biopsy results. As there was suspicious results, was told my operation would be sooner. "I was upgraded" So operation set for 2nd September. Then I get called in to see consultant 15th August to be told they needed to speak to Guy's for their opinion. 3 days later not heard anything, so phoning again. Yes op is at Guy's. So from seeing consultant 13th June, it has taken 2 months & now my op on 2nd Sep is cancelled. I have a very large thyroid growing down into my chest which is constricting my windpipe. And my symptoms are getting worse. And a nodule may possibly be cancerous. Now I have to be referred all over again and go through the process of waiting for an appointment again. Goodness know how long that will be and my 18 week pathway has almost about run out. I am infuriated and angry at the fact I have now lost 2 months. This decision should have been made when I first saw my consultant. I will be making a formal complaint at the delay and lack of urgency of my situation.
