I wasn't overly impressed by the physio I saw, who didn't follow the guidelines on pacing and continually asked me to do too much, also didn't really understand my condition/biology e.g. couldn't understand why carrying/moving/lifting stuff caused me leg pain. They also, oddly, thought I was agoraphobic for no particular reason. The staff could benefit from training on joint hypermobility syndrome/Ehlers Danlos which no doubt affects a large number of their patients. Many are also very much put off physiotherapy, and 25% don't find it helps, so they should be aware of that. On the plus side, the physio was understanding and tried to be encouraging e.g. if I hadn't managed to do the exercises that much (which happened a lot, as they were too much). I wish they had focused more on pacing and enabling me to do more practical things e.g. cleaning, cooking rather than such a focus on exercises which I ended up doing instead of practical or enjoyable things and which brought no benefit.
