"having a grommets operation"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat

(as the patient),

I had a grommets operation.

When we arrived, we waited for 2 hours, I played with another boy, and watched a film.

the doctors and nurses came to see me, and put magic cream on both my hands.

I didn't like when they took the cannula out.

Dear Beansprout

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about how it felt to be on our ward for your grommets operation. I hope that we were able to look after you and make you feel better after your operation.

It’s never very nice having a cannula taken out, and I know it’s usually taking the sticky tape off that can be the worst part. Unfortunately we have to use so much sticky tape to try to stop it falling out. My hands are really hairy so I hate it. At least the magic cream helped to stop it hurting when we put it in.

Hope you enjoy the rest of the summer.
