I attended Warwick Hospital Day Care Surgery Centre yesterday for an ENT procedure and was understandably apprehensive and nervous. From the very first contact at the reception desk I was treated with courtesy and kindness. At every stage ( and it all flowed seemlessly ) I moved from one area to another accompanied by a friendly nurse. The consultant and their registrar both came to see me prior to me going into theatre along with the anaesthetists and indeed came to see me again at discharge from the Centre. I felt relaxed and secure throughout. The whole team melded into one highly functioning unit and this was at a time when we know the NHS is under huge threat and constraints. Even the lovely person who brought me a cup of tea and a sandwich insisted that they got it just right for me. From my point of view, the operation and the anaesthesia was carried out in an excellent professional way and today my discomfort is minimum. It was followed up by a check up phone call this morning from a member of staff at the Centre. A big thank you to everyone there and well done. One question though.....why is the Day Care Surgery Centre not listed in the ' Which Department did you visit ? ' question below
"A thoroughly reassuring experience"
