"my wife came out of appointment in tears"

My Wife’s GP referred her to see a consultant at Cumbernauld health centre. When my wife went to her appointment she was under the impression that her GP had referred her to see a specialist for an examination. While she was in the room the consultant was looking at their computer screen and said that they’d checked her scan but they didn’t say which one (my wife has had various scans) and said there’s nothing I can do for you. When my wife came out after less than ten minutes she was in tears because she was so upset by the rudeness and the total lack of empathy shown to her. I don’t think that this person should be in their profession if they are treating people as numbers and not human beings.
